April 8, 2026 — The Honourable Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Dr. Iziaq Adekunle Salako, reaffirmed the federal government’s dedication to improving the health of all Nigerians under the Renewed Hope Agenda. The declaration was made during a press briefing to commemorate World Health Day 2026.
As part of the ongoing reforms, the government unveiled the 2025 National Health Facility Survey document, emphasizing data-driven policies. The Minister stated that primary healthcare remains the foundation of the national health system, and significant progress has been made, including the administration of the HPV vaccine to over 14 million young girls and substantial reductions in maternal mortality.
